A little bit about us
While we still consider ourselves a start-up at heart (hard to shake that entrepreneurial spirit), JPM Law is now officially 6 years old!
We are a boutique legal practice offering services predominantly in corporate and commercial law, insolvency, and litigation.
Our team has experience beyond being lawyers. We provide legal services with an understanding of the commercial perspective - we don’t just identify risks, we will work with you to find ways around them. Every move we make on your matter is geared toward achieving your goals - the ones we identified together at the outset. And like our clients, we’ve created a practice where quality and cost efficiency are mutual goals, not adversaries. Every day we look for ways to improve what we do so you can improve what you do.
We know every client is different. That’s why we customise our fee arrangements at the beginning to make sure our fee is tied to achieving your end goal. The fee arrangements we craft are customized (more hip people say “bespoke”) to ensure alignment of our interests and incentives with your business objectives on each matter.
We practice in a wide variety of areas, but we don't pretend we're experts in all areas of the law. We choose to focus on discrete practice areas, our core strengths, allowing us to provide you with best-in-class legal services. Check out more of what we do here. If you need help in an area in which we don't practise, we will gladly refer you to a specialist legal practice in our trusted network that does.
Oh, and when it comes to litigation, we are equal opportunity litigators – we handle cases on the plaintiff and defendant side (but, ahem, so far, not both at the same time). Because we are small(er), we rarely have conflicts that prevents us from taking on a matter. We also do not shy away from acting against the big fish - we love taking on Goliaths.
